GOOD Yoga Opens Its Doors In Encinitas

Nestled in the heart of Encinitas, California, lies a haven for yogis seeking to deepen their practice and connect with their inner peace: GOOD yoga. But GOOD yoga is more than just a studio; it’s a community built on the foundations of alignment, traditional practices, and a deep sense of belonging, all nurtured by the passion and vision of its founder, Missy Szymanski.

A Lifelong Journey of Yoga

Missy, a native San Diegan and devoted mother of two, boasts over two decades of dedicated yoga practice and teaching, a journey that has spanned continents and ignited hearts.

Missy’s yoga journey is deeply rooted in her training with renowned teachers like Bikram & Rajashree Choudhury, Emmy Cleaves, and Jim Kallett. Certified at the Bikram Yoga College of India in 2008, she further honed her craft through certifications in Alignment, Vinyasa, and Advanced Alignment Teacher Trainings under Patrick Creelman & Rinat Perlman in Asia. Missy’s expertise extended beyond borders, gracing boutique studios, major corporate yoga centers, and digital platforms across the United States and Asia.

Get to Know GOOD Yoga

In 2022, Missy returned to San Diego, drawn by a mission to inspire and share the transformative power of yoga with her local community. Located right in the center of the yoga-loving enclave of Encinitas, GOOD yoga aspires to foster a welcoming and inclusive yoga community.

The former home of Peace Love and Yoga’s Encinitas location, GOOD yoga’s newly renovated studio is clean, simple and inviting. There is one spacious non-heated yoga room with plenty of natural sunlight and a large spacious hot yoga room which can fit at least 25 folks comfortably. The boutique is well curated and there are also men’s and women’s changing rooms onsite.

GOOD Yoga Class Offerings

While the studio offers classes for all levels and backgrounds, GOOD yoga will likely appeal to the traditional, more serious yogi as classes are taught in the Bikram and Iyengar styles. Furthermore, all of the instructors at GOOD yoga have over 15 years of teaching experience, which is a big draw if you are wanting to get serious about your practice and take your yoga to the next level.

The centering practice of GOOD Yoga is the Bikram Hot 26+2, a classic series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises designed to detoxify the body and challenge the mind. This class is not for the faint of heart, however, as it does last for 90 minutes in a very hot yoga room with temperatures creeping up to 105 degrees.

If you’re looking for a more dynamic flow, Hot Vinyasa will get your heart rate up and leave you feeling invigorated while Hot Pilates is a great low-impact workout to tone, tighten and lengthen.

For those seeking precise alignment and deeper self-awareness, Alignment classes provide a supportive environment to refine your postures and connect with your inner stillness. Both Alignment 1 and 2 are held in the non-heated studio room.

Classes are held in the mornings on weekdays and weekends, along with one lunch hour class and one evening session during weekdays. Pricing starts at $25 for a drop-in class, $100 for a 5 pack of classes and $150 / month unlimited.
