San Diego, CA -- October 9, 2024 -- Wolomi, a leading maternal health app, announces the launch of a free and comprehensive maternal health support program for mothers in San Diego and Imperial Counties. This initiative, in partnership with Volunteers of America (VOA) Southwest in support of the Healthy Start Program, aims to bridge critical gaps in maternal health outcomes by providing essential resources to all mothers, with a specific focus on underserved communities.
The United States has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the developed world, with Black women disproportionately impacted. Wolomi's new program combats this trend by offering personalized and compassionate care for mothers throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
"We believe that every mother deserves the chance to thrive, regardless of her background or circumstances," said Layo George, Founder + CEO of Wolomi. "This initiative is about empowering women, reducing disparities, and ensuring that all mothers in San Diego and Imperial County have access to the resources and support they need to navigate motherhood confidently."
Initiative Benefits
Free Access to Expert Guidance
All mothers in San Diego and Imperial Counties will receive free access to birth classes and monthly support groups led by pregnancy midwives, lactation consultants, postpartum midwives, and therapists at no additional cost. Mothers can sign up and access their benefits via Wolomi.
