A new kind of wellness sanctuary has arrived in North County and it's not your typical yoga studio.
Happy Blue Marble, celebrating its grand opening in the heart of Carlsbad Village on Friday, June 20, is a healing center and sacred gathering space all rolled into one. At a time when many people are craving deeper connection and calm, this thoughtful community space offers a warm, inclusive environment to help individuals reconnect with their truest selves and with one another.

A Community-Focused Healing Space
The studio's name is a poetic nod to The Blue Marble, the famous 1972 NASA photograph of Earth taken from space, which serves as a symbol of both the fragility and interconnectedness of all life. That same spirit infuses everything at Happy Blue Marble, a deeply intentional healing sanctuary rooted in the idea that personal healing and planetary well-being are intimately connected.
Founder Elizabeth Concannon, a longtime healer and meditation teacher with over two decades of experience, created Happy Blue Marble after noticing a gap in traditional wellness spaces.
"I love every place I've ever trained and healed in, but there was always something missing,” she says. “I was constantly being corrected—how to breathe, where to place my hands. That's not how I teach. I'm not here to tell you how to be me. I'm here to guide you back to you.”
This philosophy is core to everything at Happy Blue Marble. There are no rigid rules or postures, no expectations to perform. Instead, every class, ritual, and service is about encouraging guests to tune into their own inner wisdom.
"The most important thing to me is to create a second home for people," says Elizabeth, with the ultimate goal to create a safe space where identity, beliefs, and backgrounds are left at the door. “ I just want anybody that walks in to feel like: 'I can breathe. My religion doesn't matter, my politics don't matter. I can just come in and I have some support. I'm not by myself, whether I need to cry or I need to laugh.'"
Not Your Traditional Wellness Studio

Happy Blue Marble is not a yoga studio in the traditional sense. In fact, only one weekly yoga class uses mats, while the rest of the offerings take place on plush memory foam beds, which Elizabeth introduced after hearing from older guests who loved sound healing but couldn’t comfortably lie on hard floors.
The memory foam beds are paired with blankets, pillows, and ambient sound healing to create a cocoon of safety and sensory nourishment. “When you’re lying there holding a yin pose and someone is playing a singing bowl right over your body, it’s a completely different experience,” she explains. “You’re not just attending a class, you’re receiving healing.”
Each session at Happy Blue Marble includes multiple facilitators: one to guide the experience, another dedicated to sound healing, and often a third who offers hands-on energetic support. “We keep our class sizes small—usually under 10—so every person gets individualized attention,” says Elizabeth.
Class Offerings + Services
The studio’s offerings are steeped in intention, with a wide range of classes + services including:
- Sound Healing
- Reiki + Energy Healing
- Spiritual Advising + Intuitive Healing
- Moon Rituals (new + full moon gatherings)
- Chakra Balancing
- Kundalini Rebirthing
- Somatic Movement + Breathwork
- Tea + Tarot
- Meditation Yoga (not exercise-focused)
- Private 1:1 Healing Sessions
- Weekly Beachside Yoga at Tower 39 + Beach Terrace Inn
The moon circles, in particular, are Elizabeth’s heartwork. “They saved me, and I love that people can come in as total moon newbies and leave with something that resonates—something they can carry forward on their own healing journey.”

Guests are encouraged to ground before class at the Crystal Companions station, selecting a stone to hold during their session. They can also pause at the essential oil and aura spray bar, or pull a message from the oracle card wall—simple rituals that create a moment of presence and intention before crossing the threshold into the cozy, curtain-draped sanctuary space where they're greeted with full presence.
"The minute someone walks through the door, they get a hug,” Elizabeth shares. “This is the one thing when I train my employees, if you’re not comfortable hugging, this just isn’t the right studio for you. And I can't tell you how many people bring up the hug, like, 'oh, I was just going through it and I just knew as soon as I got there, I was going to get a hug.' Those little tiny things are so important."
