Mental Wellness for Artists to Host Third Annual Resource Fair

San Diego, CA – On Monday, May 19, 2025, the creative community will come together for an inspiring evening of connection and care as Mental Wellness for Artists (MWA) presents its third annual Mental Wellness for Artists Resource Fair at the Mingei International Museum in Balboa Park. This unique gathering celebrates mental health, artistic expression, and collective well-being in a setting that’s as vibrant and inclusive as the people it serves.

Free and open to the public with RSVP, the event invites artists, wellness professionals, and supporters of mental health to experience a curated lineup of resources, performances, and activities that affirm one simple truth: your wellbeing matters.

What to Expect

Guests will enjoy an immersive and supportive environment featuring:

  • Interactive booths by leading mental health organizations, including NAMI, Family Health Centers of San Diego, and SDAIHC
  • Introductions to therapists and mental wellness professionals
  • Insightful talks sharing diverse strategies for navigating mental health in creative lives
  • A pop-up art exhibit curated by MWA founder Blanca Lucia Bergman
  • Live music by mental health-conscious performers including Joe Dreamz and Preston Swirnoff
  • A ritualistic dance performance exploring the cycles of life, death, rebirth, and transformation
  • A community art corner for all ages and skill levels to explore their creativity
  • Unique wellness merchandise, refreshments, and complimentary gift bags for the first 10 guests

This year’s resource fair is proudly presented as part of the Mingei International Museum's "Community Mondays" program, which offers free access to the La Atalaya Foundation Theater for under-resourced arts and culture nonprofit organizations across the San Diego region. As a museum dedicated to celebrating art in all its forms, Mingei opens its space to amplify the voices and work of local creatives—from performances and film screenings to pop-up exhibitions like this one. Launched in 2022 as an Instagram-based hub (@mentalwellnessforartists), MWA quickly became a trusted resource for the region's creative community. Founded by Blanca Lucia Bergman in collaboration with fellow entrepreneurs and arts leaders, MWA has expanded its reach to include interactive mental health resource booths at various cultural venues, public and private mental health presentations, and signature events like this annual Resource Fair and curated art exhibitions.
