This workshop is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of aerial dance in a safe and supportive environment.
We will begin with a full-body warm-up to prepare our muscles for movement, incorporating dynamic stretching, core activation, and mobility exercises. Next, we will move to the silks and focus on foundational aerial poses, helping you understand body mechanics, balance, and grip strength. We will then explore spinning in the hammock, learning how to initiate, control, and exit spins with fluidity and grace. To bring everything together, we will work on a short sequence, integrating foundational poses and spins into a beautiful aerial dance that encourages musicality and personal expression.
By the end of this workshop, you'll have a deeper connection to movement in the air. Come ready with comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes, a water bottle, your camera, and an open mind— can’t wait to dance with you!
ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME, we recommend that you take at least 5 aerial classes prior to attending this workshop so that you are more comfortable with inversions. Hammocks will be hung on 1-point spinners.
We'll have a chance to record at the end, feel free to dress up (no jewelry and avoid wearing anything clothes with zippers and sharp accents)!
